Mission Statement
Our Mission is to advocate for all the children and youth of San Diego and Imperial Counties.
Ninth District will provide service, support, training, leadership, and guidance to councils and out-of-council units.
We will assist units through communication, counsel, consultation and mediation, projects, and providing PTA resources.
We will serve our community through education, collaboration and resource services.

We serve the children and schools of San Diego and Imperial Counties. With 367 PTA associations representing over 70,000 PTA members, Ninth District PTA is the largest volunteer child advocacy association in San Diego.

Proposed Bylaws Amendment
The District Board recommends that the Ninth District PTA Bylaws be amended, pending approval by the California State PTA Parliamentarian, at Article X, District Board, Section 8b, by striking the entire second sentence.
8b. Authorize the payment of district bills within the limits of the budget adopted by the district. Such action must be ratified at the next district meeting and must be recorded in the district minutes.
RATIONALE: We would still present our proposed program and budget with the categorical budget items at the two general meetings held during the year, but we would not include for ratification the detailed expenditures of every check written as those expenditures would have already been approved and ratified by the elected and appointed representatives of the district.
